Celebrating Over 10 Years Of Caring, 1997 - 2008 |
|||||||||
| Samaritan Caregivers is a faith based, nonprofit, United Way agency that provides free services to people in Howard County who are elderly, ill, or disabled. Some of these individuals have limited resources but want to continue living independently with dignity and quality of life. Often this is possible only because a volunteer from Samaritan Caregivers is able to drive them to doctor's appointments, help get groceries, stop by to visit, or stay with a homebound family member so their caregiver can get out of the house. Since 1997, Samaritan Caregivers volunteers have been making a difference. Our volunteers help about 200 people each year, logging over 8236 hours of community service in 2007. Samaritan Caregivers newsletter (Neighbor To Neighbor) is written for the community with information about activities, needs, and people. The intent of this website is to tell what we do, who we help, how to volunteer, how we got here, ways to support us financially, what is going on, and where else to look for information about issues of aging and being a caregiver. |
