Staff & Boards

Samaritan Caregivers employs three staff: the Executive Director (full-time) the Volunteer Coordinator (full-time) and a Transportation Scheduler (20 hours weekly).
The Executive Director is responsible for the overall operations and management of the organization and the supervision of the staff. The Volunteer Coordinator is involved in all aspects of the recruitment, training and retention of volunteers, as well as making home visits prior to the provision of services to seniors in Howard County. The Transportation Scheduler coordinates and arranges all rides provided by Samaritan Caregiver volunteers.

The organization is governed by a local Board of Directors, with representatives from area businesses, churches, hospitals, social service agencies and other affiliations beneficial to the organization. This group meets on the third Thursday of each month, at 7:30 a.m. in the Fellowship Hall of First Christian Church. Members serve a three year term, with a limit of two consecutive terms. Every member of the board also serves on a working committee that meets monthly: Development, Executive, Finance, Grant, Marketing, and Nominating.

The Advisory Board meets on the second Thursday of January, April, July and October, at 7:45 a.m. in the Parlor of Main St. United Methodist Church. This group serves as good will ambassadors for Samaritan Caregivers and keeps the organization current on community developments.
