She is responsible for accounts receivable, desk top publishing, data management, and some of the client/volunteer activities such as Transportation, Adopt-A Grandparent, Birthdays, and special occasion volunteers. The Volunteer Coordinator, a part-time position, is responsible for recruiting and training new volunteers. She accepts new client referrals, completing home assessments and matching client requests with volunteers. She is also responsible for the management of the IRIS program (a daily reading and recording of the local papers) for the WFYI Teleplex in the Kokomo area. Other responsibilities include processing seasonal work requests, overseeing group projects, Adopt-A-Grandparent program and assisting with events. The Board of Directors is the governing board with representatives from churches, business, both hospitals, and social agencies. It meets the third Thursday morning of each month at the First Christian Church. Each director can serve up to two 3-year terms. There are four officers and six committees - Development, Finance, Grant, Program, Nominating, and Executive. Each director serves on a committee. The people on the Advisory Board serve as a think tank and Samaritan Caregiver ambassadors in the community. They meet the second Thursday of each quarter at Main St. United Methodist Church to listen to our story, offer guidance about getting out the word, and then carrying our messages into the community. Following is the list of people who so graciously support the work of Samaritan Caregivers administratively. |
